Our Staff Team

We have an incredible staff family here with Cru at Virginia Tech. These men and women serve full-time to ensure that every Hokie has an opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel. You can read a little about them here, but they would love to meet you in person at some of our Cru events on campus.

Bryan Worrall

Bryan has been serving with Cru since 2009, both overseas and here at Virginia Tech. He stepped into the campus director roll in 2018. Bryan and his wife Erin have four children and enjoy raising animals and food on their little homestead. Bryan enjoys reading, soccer, and eating Chinese food.

Rebecca Lansford

Rebecca graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013 with a degree in Political Science. She has been serving with Cru since then and stepped into the campus director role in 2018. She loves being a Blacksburg townie and working with the amazing students at Virginia Tech, to reach the campus with the Gospel. Rebecca enjoys going on adventures, all things Johnny Depp, a good cup of coffee, and teaching spin classes..

Trey & Rebecca Moore

Trey graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013 with his degree in engineering science and mechanics. While he grew up elsewhere in southwest Virginia, he has now found his true home in Blacksburg, Virginia and loves helping students find deep Christian community and grow in their love for Jesus. Trey’s wife Rebecca is not on staff with Cru, but works as a veterinarian in Roanoke, Virginia. Trey and Rebecca met during undergrad at VT, were married in 2015, and now live in Riner with their dog Mae.

Betsy Wheeler

Betsy Wheeler has served with Cru for 12 years, 10 of those years with Valor at Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, VMI, and overseeing the Mid-Atlantic region. Two of Betsy's greatest callings are helping students deepen their faith in Jesus and fostering a desire to live as lifelong missionaries for the Gospel in every sector of society and around the world. Another of her loves is teaching Bible and theology, and she's always ready for a theological discussion. But her greatest love of all is knowing God personally. Theology is great, but knowing God intimately and not just the things about Him is far greater.

Mike & Linda Montgomery

Mike and Linda Montgomery were high school sweethearts who married in 1970 and spent their next 23 years moving around the world as an Air Force family. In 2005, they joined Cru Military staff, applying their military experience and love for God’s word to minister to active duty families. Mike and Linda transitioned to Cru Valor at Virginia Tech in 2017, focusing on discipling ROTC cadets and developing outreach to military veterans returning to campuses. They are the parents of two married children and, if asked, are sure to tell you about their 10 grandchildren.

Evan Rogers

Evan graduated in December of 2022 with a Bachelor's in Elementary and Special Education. He is serving as a first year intern, but hopes to transition to full time staff next year! Evan loves being active (hiking, weight lifting, and all of the sports) and all things Boston (go Celtics)! He serves with fraternities and sororities through Greek Cru at Virginia Tech. He is most passionate and gifted with building relationships and then sharing the gospel with fraternity men who do not yet know Jesus!!! Currently, Evan is an advisor for Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX) and the Board of Trustees Chaplain for Alpha Tau Omega (ATO).
