Jeff & Lisa
Jeff and Lisa have worked with Cru for 19 years with the last 10 years giving leadership to Cru at Virginia Tech. They have 5 incredible children who love to hang out with the students in Cru. Recently, they spent a year overseas in ministry and love to see students go to the world to tell others about Jesus Christ. Jeff and Lisa enjoy spending time with their kids and having people over to spend time with their family.
Adam & Ruth
Adam is the Director of Operations with VTCru. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2007 and, after finishing his graduate work, started working with Cru in 2009. Ruth joined him in 2010 after they were married and they’ve been serving at VT ever since. They love college students and truly believe that students are a critical part of the gospel spreading throughout the world. Adam enjoys longboarding, disc golf, and reading. Ruth enjoys baking and reading. They have two little girls, Evy and Brynn.
Rebecca graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013 with a degree in Political Science. After interning with Cru for a year she became a member of the long-term campus staff. She is thrilled to be living in Blacksburg and working with the amazing students at Virginia Tech, to reach the campus with the Gospel. Rebecca enjoys all things Hokie, new adventures with friends, a good cup of coffee, and learning more about Virginia history.
Ali graduated from Virginia Tech in 2015 with a degree in International Studies and minors in Sociology and Diversity & Community Engagement. During her senior year, she led a Bible study in her sorority, Chi Delta Alpha, and realized her passion for ministry. Though she originally thought God would call her abroad, He has called her to stay in Blacksburg and she couldn’t be happier! Ali loves learning to cook, crafting, spontaneous road trips, and anything that has to do with Christmas.
Trey graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013 with his degree in engineering science and mechanics. While he grew up elsewhere in southwest Virginia, he has now found his true home in Blacksburg, Virginia and is looking forward to helping students find deep Christian community and grow in their love of Jesus. Trey is an avid golfer and banjoist. He also enjoys hiking in the New River Valley and reading a good story.
Laura graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011 and has worked for Cru ever since.She started walking with God in college and is excited about students finding Jesus in the midst of a chaotic world. She loves mornings, running, and exploring new places. She is a Wisconsin native, but has found her home in VA since marrying her husband Dan in 2014. Dan is in the military but loves to be around college students and volunteers with Cru. Her and Dan have a little girl named Camille Joy.
Ben recently graduated from Virginia Tech in 2016 with a degree in Materials Science and Engineering. After being actively involved with Cru throughout his time at Tech and wrestling through different vocational opportunities his junior and senior years, God made it clear that he was being called into ministry for the year after he graduated. He’s an avid football fan (both college and pro), enjoys reading a good book, and would do almost anything for an Anita’s breakfast burrito.
Aiyana graduated from Virginia Tech in 2016 with a degree in Human Development. During a Summer Mission in Colorado her junior year, she felt God calling her to full-time ministry. Deciding to graduate early, the Lord led her to extend her involvement in Cru through interning. Aiyana enjoys being outside, photography, baking, has a deep appreciation for flowers, Hokies, and good coffee.
Zach was born in Michigan, but moved overseas when he was four years old, and lived there for 15 years before moving back to the States for college. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2016 with a degree in Graphic Design. While he absolutely loved his major, he was heavily involved in Cru and felt the call to the mission field. He is an avid hiker, guitar player, designer and photographer.
